In this episode of #Leadership Talks, host Sukirti Gupta speaks to Ruchira Chaudhary, author and leadership coach, about uncommon leadership and why leadership is a life skill everyone needs!

Ruchira talks about why good coaching matters now more than ever. She believes that leadership must be inclusive, and only a great coach can be a good leader.

Leadership must be inclusive, and only a great coach can be a good leader.

Ruchira says that leaders need to think of new and innovative ways to provide their employees and coworkers with a sense of belonging. They also need to make focused efforts to find a balance between providing people with the flexibility they desire and providing the structure, discipline, and direction that they are seeking.

Ruchira Chaudhary believes that leadership must be inclusive, and only a great coach can be a good leader. Companies succeed only when leaders invest in the future generation of leaders through coaching. Leadership today is more collaborative than prescriptive or authoritative. It is about asking the right questions rather than having all the answers. And above all, a good leader is compassionate, empathetic, and supportive. You must learn to trust people for them to trust you back.

Ruchira’s recent book – ‘Coaching – The Secret Code to Uncommon Leadership’ – illustrates how a leader can bring out the best in people by coaching them. She has proven that women are no less than anybody else and can succeed in whatever we do.

Takeaways From Ruchira Chaudhary:

      1. Be Compassionate, and supportive. The uncertainty of the pandemic impacts people in different ways, but you are there for your team
      2. Trust that your people will do the job, do not undermine or underestimate your team. Give them space, time and set clear boundaries between work and play.
      3. Leadership today is more about being collaborative than prescriptive, asking the right questions than having all the answers
